Makai Toushi Sa-Ga (Japan)
Makai Toushi Sa-Ga, meaning "Demon World Knight SaGa", is a role-playing game for the Nintendo Game Boy, and a part of the SaGa series known for its unique gameplay mechanics. This entry deviates from traditional JRPG linearity, offering a more open-world experience where players have considerable freedom to explore and tackle challenges in a non-linear fashion. The game is characterized by its intricate story and a battle system with a focus on strategic party building and tactical combat. Although less narrative-driven than some later SaGa titles, its innovative gameplay systems and challenging encounters make it stand out. It was developed and published by Square (now Square Enix).
