Mode7's Game Boy Advance version of E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial offers a slightly improved experience compared to the Blizzard version, yet still fails to overcome the fundamental limitations of adapting such a concept to the GBA's capabilities. The platforming remains simplistic, the graphics are functional, and the overall presentation is underwhelming. However, minor differences in level design and perhaps smoother controls distinguish it from its predecessor. Both versions serve as a reminder of how difficult it can be to transform a beloved film property into a successful video game.
