Castlevania is a 1986 action-adventure game developed and published by Konami for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It was the first game in the Castlevania series and established many elements that would become hallmarks of the franchise, including gothic horror aesthetics, exploration of a sprawling castle, and combat against classic monsters like vampires, werewolves, and zombies.
