Similar to the standard Japanese Dig Dug II release, this version uses the Famicom Disk System. The increased storage offered by the Disk System could have allowed for improvements in graphics, sound, or potentially even additional content not present in the standard cartridge release. However, details regarding these potential improvements remain largely undocumented due to the peripheral's relative obscurity. Namco produced this version as well.
