Donkey Kong Jr., a classic platformer, was originally released for the arcade in 1982. The NES version, with its distinctive 8-bit graphics and chiptune soundtrack, remained true to the original concept. Gameplay involved navigating Jr. through various levels, rescuing his father Donkey Kong from King K. Rool and his minions.  The NES version saw several regional variations, including different cartridge revisions (Rev A) and versions with added educational elements like Donkey Kong Jr. Math.  While maintaining core gameplay mechanics, these variations presented additional challenges and educational minigames, differentiating them from the initial arcade release. Nintendo was the primary developer and publisher of the various NES versions of Donkey Kong Jr. across different regions.
