Dragon Spirit: The New Legend (and its Japanese counterpart, Dragon Spirit: Aratanaru Densetsu) is an action-adventure game for the NES. Developed by Konami, the game is a vertically scrolling shooter where players control a dragon knight and must traverse a variety of stages, battling enemies and bosses.  Known for its smooth scrolling, intense action, and stunning visuals for its time, it combines shooting and role-playing elements.   The game features multiple playable characters, each with unique abilities, and allows for upgrading one's equipment.  The storyline involves a kingdom threatened by evil forces, providing a classic fantasy setting. While the US and Japanese versions share similar gameplay, there are some minor differences in level design and enemy placement.
