Released in 1987 for the Family Computer Disk System (FDS) in Japan, "Link no Bouken" or "The Legend of Zelda 2", is a significant departure from the original top-down perspective. It's a side-scrolling action RPG that retains the core elements of exploration, puzzle-solving, and combat.  The game introduced new mechanics such as experience points for Link, magic spells, and a more narrative-driven experience compared to its predecessor.  This version, "Rev 1" signifies the first release revision with minor bug fixes or adjustments, and the 'Collector's Edition' is an enhanced package. Nintendo developed and published the game.
