Nekketsu Koukou Dodgeball Bu (Japan)
Nekketsu Koukou Dodgeball Bu, known in the West as Technos Dodge Ball, is a fast-paced, side-scrolling dodgeball game originally released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in Japan. Developed and published by Technos Japan, the game is famous for its over-the-top cartoonish graphics and unique blend of sports and fighting game mechanics. Players select teams of high school students, each with their own unique attributes and special moves. Gameplay involves throwing dodgeballs at opponents to knock them out of the arena while avoiding being hit themselves. Winning requires strategic throws, precise aiming, and skillful dodging. The game features various game modes including story mode and versus mode. Although not as widely known outside of Japan as other NES titles, it has cultivated a dedicated following thanks to its chaotic gameplay, memorable characters and nostalgic charm. Several unofficial English translations exist, making the game more accessible to international players. It is considered a hidden gem of the NES library.
