Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back is a 1997 platform video game, the sequel to the original Crash Bandicoot. Developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony, the game continues the adventures of Crash as he once again faces the nefarious Doctor Neo Cortex. Gameplay remains largely similar to the first game, featuring colorful 3D environments, challenging platforming sections, and a variety of enemies to defeat. However, it introduces new gameplay elements like the ability to perform a slide and new power-ups to aid Crash on his adventure. Cortex Strikes Back expanded upon the success of the original, offering more levels, more challenging gameplay, and even more memorable characters. The game continued to refine the formula and solidify Crash Bandicoot as a major mascot for the PlayStation.
