Cosmic Carnage, known as Cyber Brawl in Japan, is a futuristic 2D fighting game for the SEGA 32X. Set aboard a spaceship under siege, eight alien warriors battle for survival and dominance. Each fighter has a unique design, from monstrous beasts to armored humanoids, with customizable armor pieces that alter abilities. The European version offers the same gritty visuals and distinct combat system, emphasizing heavy strikes and defensive maneuvers. While not as fluid as genre leaders like Street Fighter, it showcased the 32X’s improved color palette and animations. Cosmic Carnage delivered a dark, atmospheric take on fighting games of its era.
