Earthworm Jim: Special Edition enhanced the already popular Genesis game with additional levels, improved graphics, and CD-quality sound. This Sega CD version retained the core gameplay of the original: a challenging and humorous platformer starring a worm in a high-tech suit.  The added content provided a more substantial adventure for fans of the original.  Players control Jim, navigating perilous environments, using his whip and various power-ups to defeat enemies and solve puzzles.  The improved audio-visual presentation showcased the Sega CD's multimedia capabilities. Published by Playmates Interactive, this version solidified Earthworm Jim as a standout title on the Sega CD.
