Prince of Persia is a 1990 action-adventure game developed by Jordan Mechner and published by Brøderbund. The European Sega Genesis version, a port of the original Apple II game, offered challenging platforming and puzzle-solving in a visually impressive format for its time.  Players had to navigate intricate levels, dodging traps and enemies while racing against time to rescue the princess.
