The sequel to the critically acclaimed Shadow of the Beast, this game expands upon the original's dark fantasy setting and challenging gameplay. Shadow of the Beast II retains the side-scrolling beat 'em up formula but introduces new enemies, levels, and power-ups.  The Sega Genesis version, released in 1990, maintained the dark aesthetic and difficult gameplay of the original while being graphically impressive for the system.  Psygnosis once again served as both the developer and publisher of this title.
