Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game is a side-scrolling beat 'em up released for the NES in 1991. It's a port of the popular arcade game, maintaining the same core gameplay of navigating levels, defeating enemies, and collecting power-ups as the four turtles.  While not as graphically impressive as the arcade original, it captured the spirit of the game by featuring iconic characters, iconic locations, and fast-paced action. Konami developed and published the NES version, continuing their association with the TMNT franchise. The gameplay focused on cooperative play, though it's entirely playable solo. Each turtle had slightly different statistics or attacks.  The game's success was largely due to the popularity of the Ninja Turtles at the time, and the game served as a worthy adaptation for a home console.
